Solid Lyon Blank Angers SCO in 2-0 Win
Lyon hosted Angers SCO at the Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu on 1 November 2026 for a Ligue 1 Round 9 clash played in clear, cool conditions at 9 degrees, with Marc Bollengier as referee. Paulo Fonseca's side lined up in a 4-3-3 and controlled the contest from the outset, while Stéphane Gilli's Angers set up in a deep 5-4-1 looking to frustrate. A VAR check at 13 minutes ruled out any early breakthrough for the hosts, but Lyon's patience paid off when Ernest Nuamah opened the scoring from Corentin Tolisso's assist just before the interval. The visitors resisted after the restart, but a late header from the outstanding Tolisso, set up by Keito Nakamura, sealed the 2-0 victory and a clean sheet for Dominik Greif's goal.
