Sturm Graz Shock Marseille With Stunning 1-0 Win

Sturm Graz produced a disciplined and resilient display at the Stadion Graz-Liebenau on a clear October evening, edging heavy favourites Marseille 1-0 in Europa League Matchday 3. The Austrian hosts, priced as outsiders before kick-off, struck early through Oumar Diakité's 13th-minute finish and then defended their narrow advantage with composure, weathering sustained pressure and a flurry of second-half substitutions from Bruno Génésio's side. In a match played in 7°C temperatures and officiated by Serbian referee Nenad Minaković, seventeen-year-old Luca Weinhandl was the standout performer, earning Player of the Match honours for his assist and industrious midfield display. The result leaves the visitors empty-handed despite their possession and efforts.
