Barcelona star sends message to Valencia fans

Barcelona star Pedri took advantage of the opportunity to send a message of appreciation the way of the Valencia fanbase on Sunday evening.

This comes after the midfielder played a starring role in Barcelona’s utter demolition of Los Che.

Hansi Flick’s troops made the trip to Mestalla a short time ago, eyeing a fourth victory on the spin to open the defence of their La Liga title. And when all was said and done, this is precisely what the Blaugrana managed, to the tune of a 5-0 romp.

The aforementioned Pedri featured from the off in the fixture, and opened his account for the season with Barca’s fourth goal during the 2nd-half.

So impressive was the 23-year-old across the 90 minutes, in fact, that at one point, he was the recipient of chants and applause from the home crowd.

Speaking to the media post-match on Sunday, Pedri, in turn, sent a message of gratitude the way of Valencia’s fanbase:

“Mestalla fans applauding me despite Valencia’s difficult situation? I must thank everyone. When the opposing team’s fans applaud you, it’s always a beautiful thing, and I wish them the best for the season.”
