Liverpool FC have reached an agreement with AS Saint-Étienne regarding the transfer of Djylian N’Guessan (18).
The young striker will officially join the Reds during the upcoming winter transfer window. However, the 18-year-old will now spend the remainder of the 2026–27 season at Stade Bretois 29, where he has been loaned out to continue his development.
A native of Saint-Nazaire, N’Guessan is a product of the Saint-Étienne academy. Having progressed through the various youth ranks, the centre-forward, born in 2008, made his debut there in January 2025, coming on as a substitute against Stade de Reims in Ligue 1 to become the third-youngest player in history to wear the ASSE colours.
With 13 appearances – and one goal – at professional level, N’Guessan is regarded as one of the greatest French talents in his position. Having earned his first cap for the French Under-16s in 2023, the right-footed player now plays for the French Under-20s, for whom he has already made seven appearances.
