Beşiktaş JK are reported to have submitted an offer – the amount of which has not been disclosed – to Como 1907 in their bid to sign Maxence Caqueret (26), according to information from L’Équipe.
Determined to keep their midfielder, the Italian club – currently eighth in Serie A and set to compete in their first-ever Champions League campaign – are said to have rejected any approach regarding him. A stance shared by Cesc Fàbregas, who is reported to have conveyed to his protégé, whose contract runs until 2029, his desire to see him continue his career in Lombardy.
Having joined from Olympique Lyonnais for a fee of €15m a year and a half ago, Caqueret quickly established himself as a key member of Como’s squad. Starting in 21 of the 36 matches he played last season, the Vénissieux-born player proved decisive on eight occasions, finding the back of the net twice and providing six assists.
