Official | Elche sign Thomas Lemar on loan from Atlético Madrid

Elche have officially announced the signing of Atlético Madrid’s Thomas Lemar (30) on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Once again left out of Diego Simeone’s plans for the coming season, the Frenchman has thus joined the Franjiverde , who finished 15th in La Liga at the end of the 2025-26 season.

On loan at Girona in recent months, the World Cup winner enjoyed a campaign in which he was able to regain some playing time, making 28 appearances in all competitions (three goals, two assists) for the Catalan club.

Having arrived in Spain from AS Monaco for over €70m in the summer of 2018, Lemar never really established himself as an undisputed first-team regular, having scored 10 goals and provided 19 assists in 186 matches for the Colchoneros.

With 27 caps for the French national team (four goals), the Baie-Mahault, Guadeloupe-born player has not worn the Les Bleus shirt since September 2021.
