How much Barcelona, Atlético & Real Madrid will be paid by FIFA for World Cup contributions

An insight into the financial payouts coming the way of Spanish football’s three biggest clubs courtesy of World Cup organisers FIFA has this week been provided.

This comes amid confirmation that Barcelona will be the best-paid La Liga club, ahead of Atlético Madrid, and then Real Madrid.

FIFA have long put a system in place whereby clubs are rewarded for the success of their players on the grandest stage in international football.

As per a report from The Athletic :

‘FIFA pays out on the basis of how many days finals participants are at the World Cup, with clubs entitled to roughly $5,000 per day, per player, between the mandatory release date of May 25 and the day after their national team’s last match in the competition.’

Based on as much, it should come as little surprise to hear of Barcelona – who had eight players present at the World Cup final – being entitled to a significant $3.9 million.

This is the 2nd-highest figure of any club, behind only Manchester City.

Next up when it comes to La Liga representation are Atlético Madrid, sitting 6th with $3.2 million coming their way. Finally, Real Madrid can look forward to a payout of $2.6 million, good enough for 9th spot on the list.
