A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Real Betis has on Wednesday announced his departure from the club with immediate effect.
The player in question? Cédric Bakambu.
Striker Bakambu for his part spent the last two years plying his trade in the colours of the Verdiblancos. During this time, the DR Congo international featured largely off the bench, to the tune of an eventual 47 La Liga appearances.
This past season, in 27 outings between league and cup, the experienced goalscorer notched a respectable seven direct goal contributions.
As alluded to above, however, moving forward, Bakambu will be plying his trade away from Andalusia.
Now 35 years of age and having not been offered an extension to his expiring contract terms, the former Galatasaray man on Wednesday made official his departure from Real Betis as a free agent.
In a post across their social media platforms, Betis thanked Bakambu for his services, and wished the forward all the best in his future endeavours.
Por siempre 'Príncipe de Montequinto'.
¡Muchísimas gracias por todo y lo mejor en tu futuro, Bakambu! 💚👑 pic.twitter.com/vQ6BuP3DYC
