La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have on Tuesday been dealt a setback on the personnel front. This comes amid confirmation of Javi Galán picking up an injury problem.

Defender Galán, for his part, is fresh off a return to Balaídos this summer.

After seeing his short-term contract agreement with Osasuna come to an end, the 31-year-old opted for a reunion with the club with whom he spent two years between 2021 and 2023.

Galán, in turn, has spent the last week familiarising himself with his new teammates, as part of pre-season training in Vigo.

As alluded to above, however, on Tuesday, the left-back’s preparations for the 2026/27 campaign were dealt a blow. This comes amid confirmation of Galán being set for an incoming spell on the treatment table.

As per a statement across Celta Vigo’s website and social media platforms:

‘MEDICAL UPDATE (on) Javi Galán. The player from Badajoz suffers a low-grade fibrillar tear in his left rectus femoris muscle.’

PARTE MÉDICO 🩺 Javi Galán

El lateral pacense sufre una rotura fibrilar de bajo grado en el recto femoral izquierdo.
