Wolfsburg and Stuttgart far apart in Pejčinović valuation

There is still no breakthrough between VfL Wolfsburg and VfB Stuttgart for the transfer of Dženan Pejčinović.

Dženan Pejčinović is patiently waiting for VfB Stuttgart to reach an agreement with VfL Wolfsburg for a summer transfer. The Germany U21 international made his preference last week as he wants to stay in the Bundesliga with the move to the Champions League participants.

However, Wolfsburg closed the door for negotiations unless Stuttgart are ready to meet their €25 million valuation of the striker. Stuttgart’s €16 million (plus €2 million bonuses) offer was quickly declined by the now 2. Bundesliga club.

Wolfsburger Allgemeine reported the offer was increased to €22 million at the beginning of this week, but Bild confirmed Wolfsburg didn’t receive that bid as of today. Stuttgart bosses promised to send an offer with an increased transfer fee, although that would still fall short of Wolfsburg’s valuation, according to Bild.

In a recent interview with WAZ, Dieter Hecking confirmed Wolfsburg’s stance clearly. “Dzenan has a contract with us. We have a clear opinion. We don't want to sell him. But, we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.”

Meanwhile, Stuttgart identified Feyenoord’s Leo Sauer as an alternative. The 20-year-old winger has a contract with the Eredivisie club until 2028. TSG Hoffenheim are also interested in the Slovak international.
