Son of Barcelona legend to be called up by Hansi Flick

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick intends to call Shane Kluivert up to train with his first-team stars in pre-season this summer.

This comes as the 18-year-old continues to make a name for himself as a potential future star in the making.

Kluivert, for those not familiar with his name, is the son of Barcelona legend Patrick. The youngster has been plying his trade in Catalunya’s capital since all the way back in 2017, after joining from Paris Saint-Germain.

Kluivert is a gifted versatile attacker, who chiefly takes to the pitch on the left wing. His technical and tactical nous, though, mean that the Dutchman is also capable of lining out on either the right, or even as a centre-forward.

And as alluded to above, such gifts have evidently not gone unnoticed amongst Hansi Flick and the first-team staff at Barcelona…

As per a report from Dutch journalist Mike Verweij:

‘Shane Kluivert will join the first team of FC Barcelona during the preseason and follow in the footsteps of his father, Patrick.’
