Far from their best, Germany still did enough to beat the United States 2-1 in Chicago in their final friendly ahead of the World Cup in Chicago on Saturday evening.

Kai Havertz returned to the Germany starting lineup after arriving late following his involvement in the Champions League final with Arsenal. Playing just over an hour, the 26-year-old made a strong impact and was involved in both of Germany’s goals, heading in the opener before later setting up Leroy Sané for the winner
