Official: Mallorca star seals Championship move

RCD Mallorca have on Friday announced the departure of attacker Cyle Larin on a permanent basis.
This comes after Southampton made the call to extend the Canadian’s stint at St. Mary’s for the long-term, following a loan spell this past season.
Frontman Larin for his part spent the entirety of the 2025/26 campaign out away from Son Moix, across a pair of separate loans.
First, the 31-year-old put pen to paper on terms with Dutch heavyweights Feyenoord. After struggling to impress in the Eredivisie, however, Larin’s time at Feyenoord was cut short.
This culminated in a January move to England, with Championship side Southampton. The 89-time capped international’s time with the Saints proved altogether more productive, giving rise to eight goals all told.
And as alluded to above, such exploits evidently proved enough to convince those behind the scenes at St. Mary’s of Larin’s deservingness of an extended stint in Hampshire.
As per a statement across Mallorca’s social media platforms on Friday:
‘RCD Mallorca and Southampton FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Cyle Larin. RCD Mallorca thanks him for his performance at the club and wishes him the best of luck in the future.’
