With the 2026 World Cup kicking off this day next week, football fans around the world are eagerly getting their fantasy teams ready for the start of the tournament.
In this article, we take a look at Germany's projected starting lineup and their most interesting players from a 2026 World Cup Fantasy perspective.
Goalkeeper:
It goes without saying that Manuel Neuer (€5M) will be Germany's first choice shot-stopper once again. The 40-year-old came out of international retirement having impressed for Bayern Munich last season.
The 2014 World Cup winner held a 62% save success rate and on average, kept a clean sheet every three games last campaign. However, better value may lie elsewhere.
Defenders:
In terms of reliability for starting minutes, team captain Joshua Kimmich (€5.5M) should be an eternal presence at right-back and also holds some key set-piece responsibilities.
His club teammate Jonathan Tah (€5.3M) is also likely to be a mainstay in Julian Nagelsmann's backline, with the left centre back slot more susceptible to rotation.
Left-back also poses some options – David Raum (€4.9M) was excellent for RB Leipzig last season, providing 3 goals and 7 assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances.
However, Eintracht Frankfurt's rising talent Nathaniel Brown (€4.7M) started Germany's friendly match with Finland and could easily get the nod for their opening game with Curacao.
Midfielders:
Despite some difficulties adapting to life with Liverpool, Florian Wirtz (€7.5M) is still a key man for Germany, registering 3 goals and 2 assists in his last three international outings.
There is no denying Jamal Musiala's (€8M) quality, but ankle problems did hamper his club season somewhat. As a result, it seems likely his minutes will be managed during Group E.
Finally, Lennart Karl (€4.8M) could be a top tier budget option going forward. Nagelsmann seems impressed by the 18-year-old who even grabbed a goal in Sunday's rout of Finland.
Forwards:
Kai Havertz (€7.8M) is expected to lead the line this summer and is now back to full fitness after his goal in the Champions League final for Arsenal. He will also likely be on penalties too!
If Nagelsmann is to rotate at any point, Deniz Undav (€6.6M) could be the man. He bagged a brace against Finland, continuing his rich vein of form after a 25-goal season with Stuttgart.
