Barcelona eye Chelsea star as replacement as Deco ‘will be listening’ to transfer offers

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to entertain offers for Alejandro Balde over the course of the summer.

Not only that, but the Blaugrana have already lined up a potential replacement, should a suitable proposal arrive for the talented defender.

Left-back Balde is for his part fresh off something of a hit-and-miss campaign in Catalunya’s capital in 2025/26.

Amid a string of fresh fitness problems, the 22-year-old lost his starter status, as January signing João Cancelo was favoured on the left of Hansi Flick’s backline following Gerard Martín’s shift to centre-back.

These developments had long given rise to speculation surrounding Balde’s future at the Camp Nou beyond the coming summer.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from local media this week is anything to go by, then the Spaniard’s future at Barcelona should now be considered as more up in the air than ever before.

As per a report from Tot Costa of Cat Radio:

‘FC Barcelona would be willing to listen to offers for Balde.’ It is also noted that ‘Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella has been sounded out’ as a replacement.
