Last week, Serie A side Bologna confirmed the departure of Vincenzo Italiano and Domenico Tedesco has come in as a replacement. The former Rossoblu boss hasn’t earned a move to Napoli but could now be heading to Turkey.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Besiktas are interested and see the Italian as a replacement for Sergen Yalçın, who left the managerial position some weeks ago.

Initial contact for Italiano has been made and there is a chance he can become the next Besiktas manager. It would be his first role away from Italy but one that he would definitely deserve.

Italiano should wait

The former Bologna boss has a glowing reputation because of the work he has done even at Spezia and Fiorentina. He is a firm believer in playing a progressive brand of football that seeks to keep possession and play between the lines quickly.

While many Italy-based players have been linked with moves to Turkey, a switch to Besiktas might be wrong for Italiano. He is at a point of his career where he can attract some major jobs and join clubs that have a very ambitious sporting project.

Besiktas, on the other hand, are chaotic and constantly change managers. It would only bring the 48-year-old down and he needs a stable club to execute his ideas again.
