Lille OSC have announced the appointment of Davide Ancelotti to fill their managerial vacancy. Les Dogues were on the market for a head coach following Bruno Genesio’s exit, the latter is reportedly a Marseille target. Lille were adamant they were set to appoint a foreign coach to succeed Genesio with Ancelotti and Thiago Motta touted as potential candidates.
The son of Carlo Ancelotti eventually got the nod. The former midfielder joined his father’s staff during his tenure at PSG as a fitness coach. Davide turned assistant coach for his father for his spells at Everton (2019-2020) and for his second Real Madrid tenure (2021-2025). The 36-year-old then became Botafogo head coach.
With Lille OSC, Davide Ancelotti will continue his coaching journey and discover Champions League football, given Les Dogues side finished third in Ligue 1. He has signed a two-year deal with Lille.
