Real Madrid star wins Champions League award

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Sunday secured for himself a prestigious Champions League award.

This comes amid confirmation that Arda Güler has been named the competition’s Young Player of the Year.

The Champions League campaign was of course brought to a close yesterday evening, as Paris Saint-Germain retained their title at the expense of Arsenal.

Real Madrid’s journey, on the other hand, was ended at the quarter-final stage.

Along the way, the aforementioned Arda played a central role for Los Blancos, racking up 14 appearances all told.

Across these outings, the 21-year-old proved himself a key contributor in the final third, to the tune of two goals and four assists, including a brace against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

And as alluded to above, this weekend, these exploits have been aptly recognised by UEFA.

As per a release across the organisation’s social media platforms, Arda has secured the prize for 2025/26 UEFA Champions League Revelation of the Season.
