Report – Atalanta Ready to Offer Unsettle Milan Star Escape Route
After a disappointing season at Milan, Ardon Jashari could reportedly join Atalanta to get his faltering career back on track. According to Matteo Moretto viaCalciomercato, La Dea’s incoming sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is a big-time admirer of the Swiss midfielder.
Milan shelled out €36 million to sign Jashari from Club Brugge last summer, hoping he could be a long-term answer for their creativity issues. However, the 23-year-old flopped in his first season at San Siro, largely thanks to a lengthy injury layoff.
Jashari, who has signed a contract until 2030, made just 14 appearances in Serie A this term. Furthermore, he has found himself behind the likes of Luka Modric, Samuele Ricci, and Adrien Rabiot in the pecking order. More importantly, his performances have often failed to impress.
Therefore, Milan could consider offloading their underperforming star after the World Cup.
Our Take on Atalanta Interest in Milan Flop Ardon Jashari
With Modric widely expected to leave Milan, there could be more space for Jashari to prove his worth next season. Yet, after two disappointing Serie A campaigns, in which they failed to secure a top-four finish, the Rossoneri no longer have the luxury of waiting indefinitely for players to fulfil their potential.
Meanwhile, Atalanta could be a decent destination for Jashari, especially after helping Charles De Ketelaere return to form following a dismal season at Milan. Moreover, Giuntoli, who tried to bring Jashari to Juventus, is likely to renew his interest in the midfielder and push for a deal this summer.
