RB Leipzig are set to make late decisions on the availability of centre-back duo Castello Lukeba and Willi Orban ahead of their Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
Orban has been dealing with thigh problems this week, while Lukeba is still working his way back to full fitness after an adductor injury.
“We were able to increase the workload for both, but we’ll have to test in training what they’re ready for,” Leipzig coach Ole Werner said at a press conference on Friday morning.
El Chadaille Bitshiabu is the first option if one of them misses out. If both are unavailable, the second centre-back spot could be filled by Lukas Klostermann or Benjamin Henrichs.
On a more positive note for Leipzig, Assan Ouédraogo is nearing full fitness after recovering from an injury.
With Xaver Schlager suspended, the 19-year-old could come into the starting lineup.
“Assan could start in Frankfurt,” Werner said, adding that the midfielder “feels good and is making a good impression.”
Brajan Gruda, who returned from injury off the bench last week, is another option to fill in Schlager.
