According to a report from Foot Mercato, Serie A side have reached an agreement with Olympique de Marseille to sign young striker Robinio Vaz (18) for a fee of €20m plus add-ons. The youngster’s future at the club had been uncertain with Les Olympiens since reportedly rejecting a proposal to extend his contract at the club.

AS Roma director Fredereic Massara reportedly met with Vaz in France yesterday, as the two parties move closer over an agreement on personal terms. Foot Mercato have reported however this morning that the 18-year-old is expected to travel to Rome in the coming hours to finalise a deal and undergo a medical. The agreement is reportedly structured as a loan with a mandatory purchase option, with the total value of the operation estimated at around €25 million including bonuses.

Robinio Vaz has appeared to confirm his impending departure from Olympique de Marseille after posting — and subsequently deleting — a farewell message to supporters on Instagram.

Vaz enjoyed an impressive first half of the season, registering four goals and two assists in 14 Ligue 1 appearances. However, his place in the hierarchy became less secure amid competition from Amine Gouiri and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He reportedly declined a contract extension proposal worth €850,000 gross per year.
