Hoffenheim Cruise Past Lyon With 3-0 Victory

Hoffenheim welcomed Lyon to the SNP Arena in Sinsheim on 22 October 2026 for Matchday 3 of the Europa League league phase, in cool, partly cloudy conditions with temperatures around 9 degrees. Christian Ilzer's 4-4-2 setup proved decisive against Paulo Fonseca's youthful 4-3-3, with veteran Andrej Kramarić turning in a masterful performance — scoring once, providing two assists and earning Player of the Match honours. A disciplined defensive display, anchored by goalkeeper Oliver Baumann, kept a clean sheet as the home side converted their chances with ruthless efficiency to run out comfortable winners.
