TSG Hoffenheim Secure 2-1 Win Over Schalke 04

On Matchday 9 of the Bundesliga, TSG Hoffenheim hosted Schalke 04 at the SNP Arena in Sinsheim on 8 November 2026, under cloudy skies and a temperature of 7 degrees. Hoffenheim entered as heavy favourites and justified that billing inside the opening half hour, with Fisnik Asllani opening the scoring and then turning provider for Tim Lemperle to double the advantage. Schalke, deploying a five-man defence, struggled to contain the home attack early on but regrouped after the interval, making a double change at the break and pulling a goal back through substitute Chukwubuike Adamu on 81 minutes. The visitors pressed for an equaliser in a long period of added time, but Hoffenheim held firm to claim all three points, with Asllani named Player of the Match. Referee Martin Petersen issued two yellow cards in a contest that remained disciplined throughout.
