Solid VfB Stuttgart Blank Werder Bremen in 1-0 Win

VfB Stuttgart edged Werder Bremen 1-0 in a Bundesliga Round 9 fixture at the MHPArena on 7 November 2026, with the only goal arriving inside seven minutes. Under partly cloudy skies at a cool 5 degrees, a 60,000-strong crowd watched Sebastian Hoeneß's side take an early lead through Maximilian Mittelstädt and defend it with discipline, while Werder Bremen were left frustrated after a string of bookings and could not find a response despite their second-half changes. Mittelstädt's all-round display earned him the Player of the Match award as Stuttgart kept a clean sheet on home soil.
